FAQ
MONEY AND CREDIT CARDS
Yes, you can use the same credit cards you use in Europe almost anywhere in Russia, including contactless cards. All payments are safe. Each traveler should budget for 80 euros per day, which includes food, gasoline, and hotel expenses.
MEDICAL AID
Medical aid is free and doesn’t require insurance in most cases. However, for more serious injuries, you need insurance (e.g., hospitalization). We recommend visiting www.ihi.com for insurance.
TRAFFIC
Traffic is safe, and the regulations are the same as in Europe. The police usually don’t bother motorcyclists, and cameras are everywhere, but they don’t photograph motorcyclists. In general, motorcyclists are allowed to be creative in Russian traffic.
HOTELS
The travel agent usually chooses hotels with four or more stars (Hyatt, Hilton, Crown Plaza, etc.). In Siberia, we choose hotels that are available, but they never have more than two stars.
SAFETY
Russia is safe. When you are sober and friendly, the locals are friendly as well.
FOOD
There are many excellent higher-level restaurants in Russia. Prices are friendly, and the service is top-notch.
LANGUAGE
Russian is the primary language spoken in Russia. Only younger people can speak English outside Moscow and St. Petersburg. Our trip leader speaks Russian fluently.
VISA & FLIGHT
We recommend taking a visa for Russia from the travel agency of the host country.
We recommend booking your flight tickets at least 7 days in advance.
COMMUNICATION WITHIN THE GROUP
We use WhatsApp for all necessary communication. The tour leader and the back office send informative messages, photos, contacts, etc., through the application.
